About the event
In this 1.5- 2 hour workshop, facilitator Amira Ayad will introduce us to the practice of Art Journaling. Amira will share her art journals and talk about how she started and progressed along the years. She will show how art journaling has helped her learn about herself and explore her spirituality and connection with the Divine. How it taught her to slow down in the challenging times of life, and manage her fears, doubts, and anxiety. How the practice can help you find meaning in the midst of chaos and ambiguity, joy in the midst of grief and love in the midst of darkness.
We’ll explore tools and materials, techniques and practices and we will spend time creating and sharing our art and our stories.
At the end of the workshop, Amira hopes to leave you inspired, excited, and equipped to start your own art journal and embark on your own journey of healing and discernment.
Don’t worry, you do not need any prior experience in art-making. All you need is an open heart, a curious mind, and some simple art supplies:
- A sketchbook an art journal, or simple blank pages to start with.
- Any art media of your choice: pencils, crayons, water color, paint sticks, markers, pastel…
- Optional: Old magazines or photos for collage, paper glue and scissors.
